The Walls Are Bending Shape
The Walls Are Bending Shape, an oversized analogue collage on water color paper. This piece is multi layered & was made so I could tear into the first layer to get to the images placed underneath. The piece is disorienting & can be viewed in different directions giving you a completely different understanding of the image.
In the middle of the artwork there's a large torn hole that stretches nearly the length of the canvas in multiple directions. It centers black & white paper with obscured typeface & acrylic paint letters, underneath the torn first layer are the repeated mint green images in several different tones. Amongst this fraying paper center is a wall of cubby holes with various odds & ends inside them. Off center to the left framed by red holographic circle cutouts lies a paper silhouette with holes used for target positioned directly in the center of one of the holographic circles.
The piece features a concrete building with balcony turned on it's side and cut into pieces that don't line up, the cut outs are roughly torn, and the image has etched & scratches marks made with a knife blade. There are several pops of contrasting color - strokes of yellow acrylic paint coming from the center, & orange acrylic dots scattered in various areas to draw the eye in, as well as an orange sphere just above center.
This is the perfect piece to start conversation in your space.
